It is absolutely imperative that Tottenham Hotspur win tonight, as they go into their away leg against RB Leipzig 1-0 down.
Timo Werner’s converted penalty from the first leg is the difference between the two sides as things stand, so Jose Mourinho will be looking for a way in which to help his side claw things back.
One potential option could be Troy Parrott, due to the current circumstances that Spurs are facing.
Dele Alli has only scored one goal since being used as a striker, while Steven Bergwijn will be missing the game with an injury that could keep him out until the end of the season, as reported by BBC Sport, joining Harry Kane and Son Heung-min on the treatment table.
With this in mind, FFC writers have assessed Mourinho’s options and given their verdict on whether Parrott should start in Germany.

“Troy Parrott seems to be a very highly-rated youngster but he doesn’t deserve to be thrown in at the deep end in a match which is perhaps Spurs’ last chance to salvage something from the season.
“He has only played 95 minutes this term and the trip to Germany promises to be a lively atmosphere with RB Leipzig and their supporters looking to make the quarter-final of the Champions League for the first time ever.
“Starting Dele Alli up-front might be the last thing Jose Mourinho wants to do when he has a fully fit squad, but with the 23-year-old making three goal contributions in his last six league games he is the best bet to find those crucial away goals, and that means Parrott should be nowhere near the team.”
Money talks: How much did Levy pay for each of these Spurs stars?
Lewis Blain “Jose Mourinho would be gambling on putting his faith in Troy Parrott but Steven Bergwijn’s injury news has caught him in an even worse predicament. The Portuguese boss basically has no real threat in terms of goals as the Dutch winger has joined Harry Kane and Heung-min Son on the sidelines.“Spurs have only scored more than one goal in a game once in their last five outings in all competitions, which only emphasises how big a loss their goal-laden duo really is. If they exit the Champions League tonight, then their chances of qualifying again will be bordering on desperate as they sit seven points from the top four and are out of all domestic cup competitions.“Therefore, Mourinho needs to show his managerial worth and take a risk as bold as starting teenage starlet Troy Parrott. At the very least, he will be the only striker available and one that is surely hungry to prove his credentials to the man that has doubted him publically in recent weeks. It’s down to the manager to coach him into a good player, and starting him in their biggest game of the season could be exactly what he needs to springboard his name into Mourinho’s thoughts. It could also be exactly what Spurs need to save their season.” Jonathan Radcliffe “With Harry Kane having now been out since January, it is a surprise that we haven’t already seen more of young Troy Parrott. After all, he is the only natural striker at Mourinho’s disposal, so from that point of view, there is little choice. Tottenham are not in the best form, failing to win in five matches, so there can surely be no harm in trying something different.“At the end of the day, he has nothing to lose – if anything, his failure to play him would be a worrying sign for Spurs. Whether or not he is experienced, what message does it send if he cannot get a game even now? If he is not included in the XI, it will show Mourinho hasn’t changed a jot, and is as stubborn as he always was.” Danny Lewis
“It can be suggested that this is Spurs’ biggest game of the season, so any involvement for Troy Parrott would be a massive sign of Mourinho’s trust in the Republic of Ireland youth international.
“Spurs’ have a depleted squad, meaning that it could be worth taking a punt on the teenager, and only needs to look towards Oliver Skipp about how this can work out.
“He was unable to sway the result, but the midfielder was a rare bright spark after coming in against Norwich City, with the manager referring to his performance in that game as phenomenal, as reported by football.london – who knows, Parrott could conjure up some heroics of his own”
Meanwhile, Mourinho has hinted that one youngster may start against RB Leipzig.
